I didn't wake up in time for my early morning run this morning because of, well let's not go there, shall we?
Instead I had my breakfast - strong black coffee and a bowl of porridge with a banana in it - at leisure and then ventured out into a cold, drizzly morning, running the circuit the other way round starting with the long, good stretch from the top of Coley Avenue. That meant a flying start, then the second stage with the downhills (but a nasty rough surface down one slope, adn a bit muddy); the Southcote footbridge to negotiate on the fourth stage, and after that straightforward running on good surface.
It wasn't easy but I completed it comfortably, with something left in reserve, so I have no fears now about completing next week the 10-week schedule from couch potato to run/walking 30 minutes!
I think a chocolatey reward is in order, don't you?Current Mood:  mellow
